The month of May is often associated with honoring the Virgin Mary, especially in the Catholic Church and in its traditions. This devotion is sometimes referred to as "Marian devotion." We can think of few reasons why May is dedicated to Mary: Firstly, the Historical Origins: It is believed to have originated in medieval Europe, where May was a time of renewal and blossoming nature. Secondly May Crowning: There is a tradition known as the "May Crowning," where a statue of Mary is crowned with flowers. Thirdly May as the Month of Spring: In many parts of the world, May marks the arrival of spring, with flowers blooming and nature coming to life.
