In the historic centre of Turin, Italy, stands the Church of San Francesco d'Assisi. In the sixteenth century, the church temporarily safeguarded the Shroud of Turin, after its transfer from Chambéry. Is is an active church in the Archdiocese of Turin, with regular Masses and the Blessed Sacrament reserved. Since spring 2020, however, the church has also served as the regular place of worship for the Evangelical Lutheran Community of Turin. The Lutheran congregation is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Italy (CELI) and has administrative offices elsewhere in the city, but no church of its own. This arrangement is permanent. During the installation of Pastor Tobias Brendel in September 2022, which took place in the Catholic church, a Catholic deacon symbolically presented the new pastor with a set of keys. The Lutheran community said that this recognised the relationship of trust that had developed since the shared use of the church began in 2020. This appears to have been …Ọzọ

International Media Report on Diocese's Sponsorship of Villach Pride US and French media are reporting on the local news that the Diocese of Gurk-Klagenfurt in Austria served as one of the official sponsors (!) of the first Pride parade in Villach. The parade included people wearing dog masks, a communist flag, and a sign reading, “Jesus had two fathers — why not us?”
" The document of Benedict XVI, Summorum Pontificum, does not create a new liturgical rite..." --- No, it was Montini with Bugnini who created it. Ratzinger just tried to save it by imposing a legal fiction of two forms of the same rite for ontologically and historically different rites.
Monday, 14th July 1913 Prosecution Attacks Mincey’s Affidavit Monday, July 14, 1913 MRS. CRAWFORD BEGINS FIGHT FOR HER FREEDOM STATE STILL CONFIDENT OF CASE Story of Negro Who Says He Was Eyewitness of Slaying Disbelieved by Solicitor. Solicitor General Hugh M. Dorsey and Attorney Frank A. Hooper, engaged in the prosecution of Leo M. Frank, were induced Monday to break the silence they have maintained grilling the negro Jim Conley last week. They made their first public comments on the sensational developments of the last few days in the Phagan murder mystery. Both declared emphatically that neither the affidavit of W. H. Mincey, insurance solicitor, nor the reported confession of the negro Will Green, who is said to have been an eyewitness of the attack upon Mary Phagan, gave evidence sufficient to shake their conviction of Leo Frank's guilt. Rumors that the State was preparing to change its theory and to ask for the indictment of Jim Conley were laughed at. Mincey Affidavit Discounted. …Ọzọ
On June 26, the Archdiocese of Chicago, ruined by Cardinal Blase Cupich, dedicated a memorial for suiciders. The memorial, titled "At Peace," is located at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois. According to the Archdiocese, it is the first memorial established by a Catholic archdiocese in the United States specifically for suiciders. The Vicar General, auxiliary Bishop Lawrence Sullivan, said in a June 24 statement that the memorial was created to "honor the lives lost to suicide". And: "Historically, the Catholic Church denied Catholic funerals in churches and burials in consecrated ground for individuals who died by suicide. The Church has undergone a significant transformation in its understanding of suicide and mental illness and now recognizes that many who die by suicide suffer from mental illness and unbearable pain. The Church now embraces these individuals and affirms that they are with God, not condemned." #newsBdkpdqzsck
Bishop of Liège Wishes New FSSPX Priest Well: Bishop Jean-Pierre Delville of Liège, Belgium, wished Fr. Vincent Richter, ordained for the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X at Écône on 29 June, well in his future mission in Brazil and urged him to serve Christ "as an authentic disciple of the Gospel." His tone was firmer after the FSSPX's four episcopal consecrations on 1 July without a papal mandate, describing them as deepening the Society's separation from Rome while still calling for continued dialogue.
Thursday, 17th July 1913 Mayor Asked to Probe Action of Police Thursday, July 17, 1913 Declaring that police officers placed him under arrest while he was attempting to convey a woman in the throes of an epileptic fit to a hospital and forced him to be the companion to a negro in riding in the patrol wagon to the police station, Mongin F. Smith, vice president and secretary of the Eagle Stamp Works, Thursday afternoon carried a trenchant complaint of police stupidity to Mayor Woodward for investigation. "The young woman whom we were endeavoring to place in a hospital was Miss Mabel Parker, a performer at the Old Mill Theater on Whitehall street," declared Mr. Smith. "She was taken with a convulsion when she learned of her brother's near death Wednesday afternoon. "Aided by B.T. Glenn, manager of the theater, we placed her in an ambulance and drove to the Grady Hospital. While endeavoring to secure her a ward in the hospital, we were approached by two policemen who, as I understand, had …Ọzọ
"It often happened that they found themselves in want of necessaries, for they were very liberal to the poor, nor were they careful, like worldly people, to provide for their wants in advance. Now the Lord so ordered it, that the faith and patience of His holy Mother and St. Joseph should not be idle."
[Venerable Mary of Agreda – XVII Century AD; born/died: Agreda, Spain; Mystic; Writer; ‘Blue Nun’] They mingled these conversations, or readings from the Scriptures, sometimes with manual labor, when the saint was obliged to continue at his work. Our most amiable Lady added to them the consolations of the celestial doctrines ; and thus the happy husband made greater advancement in virtue than with the work of his hands. She showed to Him the great fruit that may be drawn from labor. Believing herself unworthy to be maintained by her spouse, she was humbled, in thinking how much she was indebted to him. She felt herself as much obliged as if she had been the most useless of creatures, and, being unable to assist our saint, she served him whenever it was possible. About this time St. Joseph saw, one day, a great number of birds come to recreate the queen of creatures. ‘They fluttered around her, as if to form a choir, and sang with a delicious melody. St. Joseph had not before witnessed …Ọzọ
