“Patrono 2024: comunità in dialogo per un futuro di condivisione e di pace”. E’ questo lo slogan scelto per l’edizione di quest’anno della Festa del Patrono della Città e della Diocesi di Carpi, che è stata presentata venerdì 3 maggio, presso il Palazzo vescovile a Carpi.

Giavera, ecco la demolizione del Tempio Regina Pacis
Al suo posto, una volta completati i lavori di abbattimento, inizierà la costruzione del nuovo centro parrocchiale dotato di spazi per la preghiera e per eventi. I lavori andranno di pari passo ad un'opera di riqualificazione dell'area. Dell'abbattimento del tempio si parla dal 2019 quando si tennero le prime riunioni fra i parrocchiani, i rappresentanti della Diocesi di Treviso e la Cei, che ha accolto la richiesta del Vescovo di inserire Giavera in un progetto pilota che permette di accedere ai fondi dell'8 per mille per la costruzione di una nuova chiesa e delle opere parrocchiali. The Ascension of the Lord is not the celebration of a physical journey through the skies into heaven. The departing Jesus does not make his way to some distant star. How, then, are we to understand what Luke tells us in the Acts of the Apostles when he writes: “He was lifted up while they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight”? Well, here we have an interpretative key: A cloud took him from their sight. In the Old Testament the cloud is a symbol of the Divine Presence.

La multitud se amotinó en contra de ellos, y los magistrados les hicieron arrancar la ropa y ordenaron que los azotaran.
Después de haberlos golpeado despiadadamente, los encerraron en la prisión, ordenando al carcelero que los vigilara con mucho cuidado.
Habiendo recibido esta orden, el carcelero los encerró en una celda interior y les sujetó los pies en el cepo.
Cerca de la medianoche, Pablo y Silas oraban y cantaban las alabanzas de Dios, mientras los otros prisioneros los escuchaban.

Daughter of Godfrey Venerini, physician in Viterbo, Italy. Following the death of her fiance, she entered a convent; following the death of her father, she returned home to care for her mother.
She invited neighbourhood women to pray the rosary in her home, and formed a sort of sodality. As these friends had little religious education, she began to teach them. Jesuit Father Ignatius Martinelli, her spiritual director, convinced her that she was called to be a teacher instead of a contemplative nun. With two friends, Rose opened a free pre-school for girls in 1685, which was well received. In 1692, Cardinal Barbarigo asked her to oversee training of teachers and the administration of schools in his diocese of Montefiascone, Italy. Eusebio di Cesarea, nella Storia Ecclesiastica (III, 18, 4) scrive: «Tramandano che nell'anno quindicesimo di Domiziano, Flavia Domitilla, nipote, per parte della sorella, di Flavio Clemente, che fu allora uno dei consoli di Roma (95 d.C), insieme con numerose altre persone fu deportata nell'isola di Ponza per avere confessato Cristo ». A sua volta, Dione Cassio, nella Historia romana (LXVII, 13-14), afferma che l'imperatore Domiziano « tolse la vita, con molti altri, anche a Flavio Clemente, benché fosse suo cugino e avesse in moglie Flavia Domitilla, ella pure sua consanguinea. In quei giorni, la folla degli abitanti di Filippi insorse contro Paolo et Sila, mentre i magistrati, fatti strappare loro i vestiti, ordinarono di bastonarli
e dopo averli caricati di colpi, li gettarono in prigione e ordinarono al carceriere di far buona guardia.
Egli, ricevuto quest'ordine, li gettò nella cella più interna della prigione e strinse i loro piedi nei ceppi.
Verso mezzanotte Paolo e Sila, in preghiera, cantavano inni a Dio, mentre i carcerati stavano ad ascoltarli.
D'improvviso venne un terremoto così forte che furono scosse le fondamenta della prigione; subito tutte le porte si aprirono e si sciolsero le catene di tutti.
