"Marriage Is Not an Ideal for Only a Few": Burke Challenges Amoris Laetitia

Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke has called on Catholics to defend the sacrament of marriage and the Christian family even at the cost of suffering. Preaching on July 25 at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Wisconsin, the cardinal encouraged married couples to embrace their vocation as a path to holiness.
"The grace of Holy Matrimony is not an ideal to which only a few can aspire," he said, "but an objective reality, a supernatural gift, which leads husband and wife to seek each other's eternal salvation along the path of divine love."
The cardinal concluded: "Let us be ready for martyrdom, if not the red martyrdom of blood, certainly the white martyrdom of faithful witness to Our Lord in the face of indifference, ridicule, and persecution."
Cardinal Burke's appeal comes just two months before the Vatican's October meeting convened by Pope Leo XIV to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Amoris laetitia. In this exhortation, Pope Francis repeatedly uses the language of the "ideal" of marriage …थप

@Boanerges Boanerges I'd say Cardinal Burke has done much more than most bishops in the USCCB.

What Bergoglio (and his Mini-Me Leo14) call theoretical, Burke calls " an objective reality, a supernatural gift." Cardinal Burke contradicts Pope Francis. Modernists have trouble understanding the supernatural.

OPEN LETTER TO BISHOP STRICKLAND

OPEN LETTER TO BISHOP STRICKLAND Bishop Strickland: Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary In a recent podcast at LifeSite, Bishop Strickland takes the lyrics, "Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary" as the point of departure for his reflections. The meditation he offers, however, must be measured against his own decision to glorify tyranny when he was uncanonically removed from Tyler, Texas. While countless saints have endured mistreatment by injustice, their witness serves the Church by offering an unflinching counter-example. These martyrs (in the literal or etymological sense of the term) may not have been able to avert an ungodly outcome, but they--like Our Lord Himself--did not submit in the sense of offering the abuse their personal stamp of approval. For all his devout words, the fact remains that Bishop Strickland has done exactly that. While many orthodox clerics (and more by the day, it would seem) have been outrageously ousted, this one stands out for having drained his sacrifice …

Sydney Archbishop: Homosexuals Mocked Catholic Faith

Sydney Archbishop Anthony Fisher noted the producers of a homosexual performance staged inside a former Catholic church on Kent Street deliberately mocked the Catholic faith.
Writing in CatholicWeekly.com.au on July 28, a week after hundreds of Catholics gathered outside the venue to pray the Rosary, Archbishop Fisher rejected claims that the show was simply artistic expression.
The performances were "not neutral expressions of art" but "a deliberate appropriation, sexualisation, and denigration of symbols and rituals specific and sacred to the Catholic faith."
The archbishop cited promotional images showing a pig offering McDonald's fries as the "Body of Christ," male performers dressed as nuns, and events titled "Sunday Mess" and "Unholy Confessions." He considered claims - that the production was not intended to mock Catholics - were "unpersuasive."
"For Catholics, the Eucharist is not a cultural motif available for parody," Fisher wrote. "It is the sacrament at the heart of our …थप

Not Homosexuals, Catholics Must "Repent" - German 🌈 Bishop

Auxiliary Bishop Ludger Schepers of Essen, the German Bishops' Conference's commissioner for homosexual propaganda, has urged Catholic parishes to become places where homosexuals can live "without fear".
Writing on Kirche-und-Leben.de on August 2, Bishop Schepers commented on the recent deadly attack during Berlin's homosexual march.
"Our parishes must be places where every person is welcome and experiences the inalienable dignity that God has given them. No one should ever have to fear prejudice, distrust, or rejection because of their sexual orientation or gender identity."
He attacked the Church, claiming gratuitously that she "has not always been a safe place for queer people," adding that biblical passages had too often been taken "out of context" and used against them.
Ludger Schepers contrasts what he calls "the Gospel's message of unconditional love" with "the experience of many queer people". This contradiction calls Catholics "to repent".
Looking to the global Church, Bishop …थप

From Failure at EWTN to Vatican Communication Reform? This morning, Leo XIV received the new Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication, the divorced Zionist Maria Montserrat Alvarado, in audience. During his pontificate, Leo XIV has met the current Prefect, Paolo Ruffini, only rarely and has not held private audiences with other senior Vatican communications officials, including Matteo Bruni, Andrea Tornielli, and Andrea Monda, seeing them only at public events. Alvarado will officially take office in November. Last year, her effort to consolidate EWTN's international news operations under a single EwtnNews.com platform did not achieve its intended goal. The project remained English-only and failed to become the successful international news site originally envisioned.

Leo XIV accelerates Vatican communications shake-up: Alvarado meeting signals change at Palazzo Pio

The future head of the Dicastery is already working on its most sensitive dossiers ahead of formally taking office in November. This morning, the Holy Father received Dr Maria Montserrat Alvarado, Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication, in audience. Leo XIV’s decision to meet her so promptly, as plans are being drawn up to reorganise the Holy See’s communications operation, is significant. In more than a year as Pope, he has received Paolo Ruffini only rarely and has never held private talks with the other leading figures in Vatican communications, including Matteo Bruni, Andrea Tornielli and Andrea Monda, whom he has met only at public events. Alvarado has come to Rome to begin the handover ahead of formally taking charge of the Dicastery in November. In recent days, she has visited its various offices, spoken to staff and begun looking into a number of matters on which she had already been given detailed briefings. From the outset at Palazzo Pio, she has sought explanations and …

Fr. Michael Mary denounces Vatican II’s ‘new religion’ ahead of consecration for Transalpine Redemptorists

Riaan Van Zyl
July 10, 2026
'It is not the same Catholic Faith that the world had always known,' he said in a recent declaration.
Just weeks before his scheduled consecration on July 25, Fr. Michael Mary, F.SS.R., has published what amounts to his final public explanation for accepting the episcopacy from Bishop Pierre Roy, presenting the ceremony not as a personal honor but as a necessary response to what he describes as an unprecedented crisis in the Church.
In a declaration released on July 8, the co-founder of the Congregation of the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer, who is now 73, reflected upon a lifetime spent in the Catholic faith and on the convictions that have brought him to this moment.
“Our Holy Mother the Catholic Church has been and, by God’s grace, will ever be the great love of my life,” he writes, before lamenting what he sees as the devastation that followed the Second Vatican Council. “The devastation, the destruction, is tangible … And this has come to pass because …थप

The court also reduced her political ineligibility from 5 years to 45 months (3.7 years), of which she has already served 30 months. Because Le Pen had already begun serving the disqualification from the initial ruling, the court ruled that the ineligibility period has been satisfied, making her eligible to run in France’s April 2027 presidential election. The Roman Rite Returns to Another Monastery: Today, twelve Benedictine monks from Le Barroux officially established a new monastic community at Notre-Dame de Bellefontaine Abbey in western France. Founded in the early 12th century, the abbey was home to Trappist monks from 1816 until their departure in 2025. Fr. Raphaël, the new prior, paid tribute to the departing community: "The monastery is in very good condition. The brothers cared for it until the very end, always hoping they could remain." And: "Our liturgy will be celebrated in Latin and Gregorian chant. There will be those who like it and those who do not. Each person must discern for himself."
