Vatican Reviews Bishop Martin’s Decisions on Liturgy in Charlotte

The Vatican’s Dicastery for Divine Worship has acknowledged receipt of a “hierarchical recourse” filed against the apparent refusal of Bishop Michael Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, to respond to requests concerning liturgical matters.
The Vatican letter, dated February 16 and signed by Fr. Pierre Paul, confirms that the case has been assigned protocol number 369/25 and will be examined according to the applicable procedures.
However, in the Vatican, such procedural formalities often lead nowhere; even the acceptance of an appeal does not guarantee any intervention or substantive action.
Bishop Martin has aggressively curtailed Catholic liturgical practices in the Diocese of Charlotte.

Jay Richards On Why Modern Science Points Directly to Intelligent Design
Does the natural world point beyond itself? Jay Richards joins us to discuss the groundbreaking new documentary, The Story of Everything, and the scientific evidence for a creator. Is science the enemy of faith, or its loudest witness? Jay Richards, Senior Research Fellow at the Heritage Foundation, dives into the "fine-tuning" of the universe—from the precise force of gravity to the discovery of over 5,000 extrasolar planets. In this interview, Jay explores how 20th and 21st-century discoveries in physics and cosmology support the classic philosophical arguments of St. Thomas Aquinas. We discuss why an ecumenical approach to science is vital for our culture and how the "lingua franca" of science is revealing the invisible qualities of God as described in Romans 1. Key Highlights: -Beyond the Summa: How modern science provides a "general revelation" that St. Thomas Aquinas couldn't have imagined. -The Fine-Tuning …Ibindi

Bishop Strickland Comments on Papal Welcoming of Female "Archbishop"

On April 27, Bishop Emeritus Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, commented on PillarsOfFaith.net regarding the scandalous reception of Mrs. Sarah Mullally at the Vatican. The woman bears the title and attire of the Anglican “Archbishop” of Canterbury.
Monsignor Strickland managed not to mention Pope Leo XIV, even though he had received the lady as an equal “bishop.”
Rather, Bishop Strickland merely reaffirmed the Catholic teaching that the priesthood is divinely instituted and that the Church has no authority to ordain women. He argued that public gestures that give the appearance of honoring someone without valid ordination in an office could confuse the faithful about the nature of the Catholic priesthood and ordination.
In conclusion, he called on Catholics to respond with prayer, Eucharistic adoration, penance, and reparation for the Church.

Anglican Dame Leads Pope in Prayer at the Vatican: Today, Sarah Mullally, who holds the title and costume of the Archbishop of Canterbury, led Pope Leo XIV in prayer in the Vatican today. They were together in the Urban VIII Chapel inside the Apostolic Palace. Mullally’s office claimed that Leo presided, but that they both said a prayer of thanks together.

Switzerland: Holy Communion Was Fed to Dogs

Three individuals shared portions of their consecrated Hosts with their dogs during a Eucharist on October 4, 2025, at Good Shepherd Parish in Zürich, Switzerland.
The sacrilege occurred during an animal blessing that had been combined with a Eucharist.
The Diocese of Chur investigated the incided and concluded on April 17 that the individuals did not act with sacrilegious intent.
Despite imposing no canonical penalties, the diocese described the incident as “highly regrettable.”

I knew a protestant woman who went to Mass, took a host, and after eating part of it, gave the rest to her grandchild. It grieves me to know to what extent the Holy Catholic Church is being betrayed by her priests and prelates. 🙏 🙏 🙏

Father Karl A Claver

I have witnessed people taking the HOST and breaking IT into smaller pieces. What happened after that I do not know. Several times I had to interrupt distributing Holy Communion, and tell the person to consume the Host immediately, and not parade around the Church with IT. Yes, things are becoming worse each day.

The Vatican Publishes a Manual to Promote “Integralism”, but Don’t Get Excited

Climate anxiety, migration, inclusion, sustainability, participation, structures of listening—all are elevated, but the hard demands of the Gospel, the demand for repentance, the exclusivity of Christ as Lord, are softened, deferred, and submerged beneath empty words of wokeism.
Regular readers of this publication will know that, alongside other Catholic journalists and commentators such as Stephen Kokx, American Reform, WM Review, Catholic Esquire, and Alexander Poe, I am a fierce proponent of Catholic Integralism.
Catholic Integralism is, of course, nothing else than the Catholic belief that everything—not just our hearts, but everything—should be subject to the Kingship of Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church, including secular government and all other institutions in society. This philosophy, if you will, is a system of thought built on the foundation of both Holy Scripture as well as 2000-odd years of Catholic teaching.
But, as we know, the Synodal Church and its “popes” have …

Leo XIV Won’t Stop German Homosex Blessings – German Theologian

Following recent remarks from Leo XIV, theologian Thomas Söding, a layman, sees "no threat" to the blessing of homosexual couples in Germany. He has been one of the best-known voices linked to the German Synod.
Speaking to Deutschlandfunk on April 27, Söding said: “What can and should happen with homosexual couples in Germany has been agreed with Rome — and that will not change.”
According to Söding, Leo XIV’s concern is ensuring that blessings are not confused with marriage, stressing that the distinction upheld by Rome is also reflected in German pastoral guidelines.
Munich Cardinal Reinhard Marx had recently forced his clergy to perform or enable homosexual blessings. According to Söding, such blessings have “long been common practice” in many German dioceses. The real issue, Söding said, is transparency: “The question is whether people talk about it openly or not.”
Cardinal Marx’s move creates “more clarity - and that is a good thing.”

Which version of the Catechism should I get? Tan, green, or blue cover? - Fides et Ratio | Reflections on life from a theological and rational perspective

My preference
Green cover

The Latin typical edition was published in 1997, with the official English translation.
This edition was the official text of reference, and included a few updates and corrections from the French edition.
To identify this edition, it was given a green cover.
The green-cover Catechism of the Catholic Church corresponds to the 1997 Latin typical edition, which serves as the Church’s definitive reference text. It incorporates final corrections and refinements following earlier versions, including alignment with the French edition. For those seeking the most authoritative and stable presentation of Catholic doctrine, the green edition remains the standard.

**The Aleteia article is spot-on and a helpful guide.** Your quoted text about the **green cover** accurately describes it: it's the 1997 Latin *editio typica* (typical edition), which became the official reference text with the definitive English translation and minor refinements from the earlier 1992/1994 French-based version (often tan cover).
### Key Context on Editions by Cover Color
- **Tan**: Early 1990s provisional English translation (French original). Good historically, but superseded.
- **Green**: 1997 official Latin-based Second Edition. This was long considered *the* standard authoritative version. Many people (including traditional-leaning Catholics) still prefer it for its "classic" status and pre-2018 wording on certain topics.
- **Blue** (and some newer hardcovers/white editions): Incorporates the 2018 change to paragraph 2267 on the death penalty (now called "inadmissible" rather than allowing for rare cases). This is the most current official text.

"Many European Abbeys Will Disappear" - Norbertine Abbot General

Many European abbeys will disappear in the near future, Abbot Jos Wouters of the Norbertine monastic order, told ND.nl on 22 April. He is the abbot general of 38 abbeys worldwide.
The interview was prompted by reporting on conditions in Berne Abbey, Netherlands, where there is said to have been a years-long culture of fear and power struggles.
Abbot Wouters notes that monasteries are receiving fewer and fewer vocations.
According to him, interested people are increasingly psychologically vulnerable individuals: "Out of a survival instinct, abbeys accept such people, even though they are completely unsuitable."
Abbot Wouters believes that his order is incapable of properly training individuals with "baggage".
He warns that such people compensate for their "inner weakness" by becoming overly bossy.
"Religion then functions like an exoskeleton, as with a lobster, which has no skeleton inside: it is hard on the outside to hide the weakness within."

Leo XIV on Anglican Dialogue: Overcoming Differences, No Matter How Intractable They Seem

Meeting for the first time with Anglican Dame Sarah Mullally, who holds the title Archbishop of Canterbury, Leo XIV encourages Catholics and Anglicans to proclaim Christ together.
They prayed together in the Urban VIII Chapel in the Apostolic Palace.
Leo XIV spoke about a fake archbishop who was an Anglican layman, and a pope who was far from saintly.
“When archbishop Michael Ramsey and Saint Pope Paul VI announced the first theological dialogue between Anglicans and Catholics [in 1966], they spoke of seeking the ‘restoration of complete communion in faith and sacramental life’. Certainly this ecumenical journey has been complex. While much progress has been made on some historically divisive issues, new problems have arisen in recent decades, rendering the pathway to full communion more difficult to discern.
I know that the Anglican Communion is also facing many of these same questions at this time.
Nevertheless, we must not allow these continuing challenges to prevent us from using …Ibindi

1231. Saying Goodbye to Facebook – World Scam

Entire blog as a free PDF eBook.
I created a Facebook account in 2008 to stay in touch with friends. I only used it sporadically. It wasn’t until six years ago that I decided to start posting my content on this platform as well. What happened next? I described that in the article Facebook Censorship. Later, there was a false sense of relief, and Mr. Zuckerberg promised: “No more censorship!!” You can find the details here. That motto still holds true today, albeit in a slightly modified form: Never again without censorship!
Less Facebook. More life.
My Facebook posts were severely restricted—more specifically, their reach. Due to shadowbanning, my new posts weren’t visible to my friends until several days later, or not at all. Despite these tactics, many people still managed to find my posts this way. The statistics showed that about 1% of my readers used this method. They used it because two months ago, I was asked to take a selfie to prove that I wasn’t a crocodile. …

Francis to Male Caregiver in Concubinage: “Do They Give You Communion?”

“Pope Francis was like a second father to me, and I still miss him deeply,” said his nurse, Massimiliano Strappetti, 56, in an interview with Corriere.it on April 19.
Francis hated hospital stays and joked whenever he had to go to Gemelli Hospital: “You’ll see—the cardinals are preparing the conclave now.”
“Every morning when he woke up, he would ask me, ‘Hello, who died today?’ That was just how he was,” Strappetti recalled.
One day, Strappetti told Francis that he was divorced and living with another woman. The pope replied: “And what’s the problem?”
He then asked: “Do they let you receive Communion? If not, tell me the names of those priests who refuse - I’ll go speak to them myself!”
For Strappetti, Francis was a “surprising” pope.
