Following the episcopal consecrations on July 1 in Ecône, Bishop Jean-Marc Micas of Tarbes and Lourdes withdrew permission for the SSPX to celebrate public Masses, administer sacraments, or organize public prayers at Lourdes. Gonzague Peignot, superior of the FSSPX in France, announced that the Fraternity intends to continue coming to Lourdes every year, “Our Lady does not deserve to be abandoned despite the obstacles,” he said. A disturbing incident occurred during Sunday Mass at Holy Family Church in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, where a woman disrupted Communion by grabbing and dropping the vessel used for intinction, spilling some of the Precious Blood.
